Warped Tour '08 (Miami, FL)

So this is my first review of a live event, and only the second live event i've ever been to, so have some pitty.

Now that that's out of the way, i just want to say that Wapred '08 was S-I-C-K. It's the first Warped Tour that i got to go to, and i'll definitely be attending more. First off, you go there, and you have no damn idea where to go, me and my girlfriend(who i was lucky enough to go with) honestly didn't know where we where for a good hour or so. Once you get comfortable with where everything is, it's truly amazing.

The tents are pretty cool, they had a skullcandy(my favorite brand) tent, a trojan tent, a tent for people to play rock band(which is exactly why you go to a concert right?), and they even had a tent for all the myspace mistresses to check their myspace's. Of course, each band and label had their own tents where they sold shirts and whatnot.

Now onto the music. I'm not going to go into much detail, simply because it was two day's ago, and i just finished recovering this morning. You can just go to the website to see the entire line-up, I'm only going to talk about my two favorite performances: Gym Class Heroes, and Cobra Starship.

So when Travie came out, it was just crazy, the crowd went crazy and it was pretty intense. Disashi was looking pretty sick in some red shades and the rest of the crew was looking pretty fly aswell. As it turns out, most people only new the lyrics to Cupid's Chokehold, and i found my self the only person(along with my girlfriend) singing along to every song. When their two new tracks (Cookie Jar & Peace Sign/Index Down) everyone in the crowd was bobbing their heads and waving their hands, and once again i was the only person that knew all the words, but you could tell that everyone was feeling it. They performed a cover to some song that i've never heard, and it was pretty funny since Travie came out with what looked like a guitar, but it was really a rockband guitar(that sneaky bastard). They also performed a song from their new album that i had never heard before titled "Live A Little", it sounded very ska-ish, and i liked it quite a bit, their new album seems to be coming along pretty good.

Now Cobra Starship's performance was something different all together. We got there about an hour early, and we still only made it to (what can be considered) about the fifth row. The second that the crowd got a peek of Gabe(pictured above) they went absolutely nuts. Naturally they played "The City Is At War" to start off, and the whole crowd was just overflowing with excitement. The only time when the crowd was even moderatly quite was when gabriel started talking. But the second that they started playing, it went back to crazy. My favorite part i have to say is when they performed "Snakes on a Plane" and Travie came out to stage. Overall their performance had to be the most charged one that i've seen.

So yeah, it was pretty sick, and if you missed it this year, make sure you don't next
